Celebrate Earth Day with Stephen Marley

For Stephen Marley, it's always easy being green, and he'll prove it once again with what promises to be an unforgettable show on the greenest of all days, Earth Day.

The reggae star, who's been touring in support of his hit debut solo album, Mind Control, has been announced as one of the performers at the San Francisco version of the April 22 nation-wide Green Apple Music and Arts Festival, which will feature 200 performances in 60 premier venues. The concerts, which will also take place over the weekend in New York and Chicago, are being staged to call awareness to environmental issues.

Earth Day in San Francisco will bring music to a historic stage - the Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park - and will also feature Bob Weir and Ratdog, the Greyboy Allstars, Martin Sexton and Jonah Smith.

Stephen and his band, which also features his brother, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, are expected to perform around 2 p.m., a perfect preview to their sold-out show at the storied Fillmore Auditorium in the city by the Bay that night.

The Green Apple Music and Arts Festival, the nation's largest celebration of Earth Day, is committed to raising environmental awareness by combining live musical performances from diverse genres with educational outreach and cultural events suitable for all audiences. The entire event will be made carbon-neutral.
